George Murphy and Ronald Reagan in This Is the Army

This Is the Army is a 1943 musical with a story line that spans World War I and World War II. George Murphy stars, with a cast that also includes Joan Leslie, Alan Hale, George Tobias, and Ronald Reagan.

The musical was directed by Michael Curtiz, and was produced by Hal B. Wallis and Jack L. Warner. The movie was based on an Irving Berlin Broadway musical.

Kate Smith appears as herself in this movie, and sings “God Bless America.” Irving Berlin, Frances Langford, and Joe Louis also appear as themselves.
