Mickey Rooney and Peter Lorre Star in Quicksand
We’re bringing you a little bit of film noir today with the 1950 film, Quicksand.
Mickey Rooney stars as Daniel “Dan” Brady, an auto mechanic who “borrows” $20 from his employer’s cash register in order to go on a date with Vera Novak (portrayed by Jeanne Cagney). His intention is to replace the cash before his employer finds out, but the situation starts spiraling out of control. Peter Lorre portrays a pinball arcade owner in Quicksand, and Barbara Bates portrays the former girlfriend of auto mechanic Brady. The film was directed by Irving Pichel.
