The terminology for movie posters includes some terms for posters that describe how the posters were used, or how the posters are configured.
Advance or Teaser Posters
An “advance” poster is issued before the film’s debut. A “teaser” poster is also an early promotional movie poster.

Reissue or Rerelease
When a movie studio releases a film again at some point after the film’s first run, the studio may also issue a new set of promotional materials and posters. These materials are termed “rereleases” or “reissues.”

Review, Award, Premiere
A “review” poster is a version of a film’s advertising posters that refers to favorable reviews that the film has received. An “award” poster notes an important award that the film has received, such as an Academy Award. A “premiere” poster is a poster that is used in conjunction with a premiere showing of a film.
Poster Styles
Two or more versions of a film’s posters may be released, aimed at different audience niches. These versions are termed “styles.” The listings of posters that are up for auction or sale may sometimes indicate the poster version, or style.
